STARRY NIGHT - VINCENT VAN GOGH

The night was dark. Vincent painted the sleepy little village.

"What about the sky?" asked Claude, a young boy who had followed him.

"I was getting to that."

"Which one is my house?"

"That one."

"That's the church."

"Then, that one."

Claude didn't think it looked like his house at all, but he decided not to comment. They were silent as Vincent continued to paint.

Claude hummed. He closed his eyes and conducted the music he was humming.

The stars shone brighter. They swirled in the sky, dancing to his song.

Vincent stared at sky and boy. He painted quickly capturing the movement and radiance of the stars. A large tree blocked his view. He tried to see around it, but it was too big. He sighed and painted it in. A dark imposing tree formed on the canvas. Next, he painted the bright moon.

Claude stopped humming to look at the painting. "Wow, I love the stars."

"Thanks."

So who's Claude? Debussy? Can't be Monet, he's older than van Gogh. But then again, Debussy was only nine years younger than van Gogh. Random name, then?
